Beginner Guitar Lesson Questions

Are online guitar lessons good for beginners?

Yes. Online guitar lessons can work very well for beginners, especially when lessons are live, one-on-one, and tailored to the student’s age, learning style, and musical interests. At La Di Da Lessons, our instructors help beginners build a strong foundation with chords, rhythm, strumming, simple songs, and healthy practice habits. Students can learn from the comfort of home while still receiving personal guidance, encouragement, and feedback from a real teacher.

What does my child need for online guitar lessons?

Your child will need a guitar, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone. We recommend setting up in a quiet, well-lit space where the instructor can clearly see both the student and the guitar. A tuner, music stand, and a few picks can also be helpful, but you do not need anything complicated to get started. If you are unsure what kind of guitar or accessories to buy, we are happy to offer guidance.

Does my child need any previous music experience?

No previous music experience is needed. Many of our guitar students begin as complete beginners, and our instructors are comfortable helping students take their very first steps. Lessons can start with the basics, including how to hold the guitar, tune the strings, play simple chords, strum in time, and learn beginner-friendly songs. The goal is to help each student feel successful early, while gradually building confidence and skill.

What age is best to start guitar lessons?

Many children are ready to begin guitar lessons around age 7 or 8, but it depends on the individual child, their attention span, hand size, and level of interest. Younger students may do better with a smaller guitar, ukulele, or shorter lesson length to start. Older kids, teens, and adults can also begin guitar at any time. If you are not sure whether your child is ready, we can help you decide what lesson length, instrument size, and teacher might be the best fit.

How much do lessons cost?

Plans currently begin at $99 per month for twice-monthly 30-minute lessons, with additional options for weekly and flexible lesson schedules. You can view all current options on our Pricing & Plans page, or book a call and we’ll help you choose the plan that fits best.
